Mesa women picked third in RMAC

The Mesa State College women’s swimming & diving team is picked to finish third and the men are picked to finish fifth in the RMAC this season, according to a preseason poll released Thursday.

The women received one first-place vote and are picked to finish behind defending RMAC champion Incarnate Word (Texas) and Minnesota State-Moorhead. Incarnate Word,

Moorhead, Grand Canyon (Ariz.), Texas-Permian Basin and Northern State (S.D.) are associate members of the RMAC for swimming.

The Mesa men are picked to finish last in the program’s first year. Incarnate Word is picked first, followed by Colorado School of Mines, Texas-Permian Basin and Grand Canyon.

The Mavericks host their Maroon & Black Pentathlon at 2 p.m. today at Orchard Mesa Pool. Mesa’s first official meet of the season is Oct. 9 at Mines.
