Metro State shuts out Mavericks
The 13th-ranked Metro State College women’s soccer team scored four goals in a nine-minute stretch Wednesday afternoon in Denver to defeat Mesa State 5-0 in an RMAC game.
The Roadrunners (7-1-0, 4-0-0 RMAC) scored their first goal when Mesa goalkeeper Alicia Kahler lost control of the ball off a header in the first half.
Metro broke open the game with the four goals beginning in the 61st minute, including another goal off a Mesa State player.
The Mavericks (5-3-0, 2-2-0 RMAC) were limited to six shots, five on goal. Kahler made five saves on 10 shots.
