• Griffins win, eye conference meet

The District 51 Griffins finished their dual meet season Friday with a 227-51 win over Moffat County. There were no additional state qualifying times for the Griffins, who took on a team with only five eligible swimmers.
“I thought our underclassmen carried the load today,” coach Dale Leonhart said.
Freshman Nate Sellers posted a personal best in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1 minute, 11 seconds, and Heath McElroy posted a time of 1:09 in the 100 freestyle.
The Griffins went undefeated in duals for the second straight year.
“It was a good tuneup for the conference meet,” Leonhart said.
