Briefs: Rodeo Sept. 18, 2009

The pros will take the arena at the Colorado Pro Rodeo Association’s 2009 year end-finals, Friday through Sunday, Sept. 18–20, at the Mesa County Fairgrounds.

The finals, hosted by the Mesa County Sheriff’s Posse, comprises the top 12 contestants in each of the nine events: bareback, saddle bronc, bull riding, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, tie down roping, open and mixed team roping, and barrel racing.

The top 12 are competing for year-end championships as well as awards and money.
Performance times are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18–19, and 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.

Tickets are $12 for ages 18 and older, and $9 for ages 7–17.  Under age 6 is free. Tickets can be purchased at Crawford Boot and Western Wear, Champion Boots, Fruita and Palisade Co-ops, Western Implement, Mesa Feed, Murdoch’s, City Market stores, Equestrian Market and Green Fields Seed and Feed.
