High School Baseball

• Green Mountain used a bign second inning to defeat Fruita Monument 12-3 on Wednesday in Lakewood.
The Rams got a grand-slam home run and a two-run home run as part of a seven-run second inning.
The Wildcats (3-2) managed only four hits, including a triple by TJ Pollock and a solo home run by Ryan Mixon.
Cody Rahmann absorbed the loss on the mound for the Wildcats, who completed a three-game road trip with the loss.

• Scott Clow hit two doubles and Specer Hicks had a double and a solo home run as Central defeated Rangeview 11-9 in Aurora.
The Warriors (2-1) scored three runs in the fourth inning to break a 4-4 tie.
Dane Barsland (2-1), who came on in relief in the fifth inning, got the pitching victory.
Clow had three hits; Hicks and Alex Heide each had two.

• Grand Junction remained undefeated as the Tigers scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to defeat Pueblo South 12-0.
It was the third game by which Grand Junction (3-0) won by the 10-run rule.
Conner Dixon (2-0) went the distance in earning the victory. Geoff Baldwin had a grand-slam home run in the Tigers’ big sixth inning, his fourth of the season.
