Judge won’t release details of Cox allegations
CASTLE ROCK — A judge won’t release a court document outling the sexual assault allegations against Denver Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox.
Douglas County Judge Susanna Meissner-Cutler said today that she couldn’t release Cox’s arrest affidavit because the investigation was still ongoing. She also said she didn’t want to subject the alleged victim to harrasment and wanted to protect Cox’s right to a fair trial.
The decision came during a hearing for Cox in suburban Denver.
The rookie has asked for permission to return to Waco, Texas now that the Broncos’ season is over. The judge didn’t address the issue during Friday’s hearing.
Cox is set to return to court March 10 for a hearing on whether there’s enough evidence to proceed to a trial.
