Cage Wars XIV is Saturday at CMU
Mixed-martial-arts fighting returns to Colorado Mesa University with a 13-fight card Saturday night for Cage Wars XIV.
The main event will feature Grand Junction’s Brandon Crespin, who takes on Travis Coyle of South Dakota in a match at 175 pounds. Billed as the co-main event is the 180-pound match between Logan Hancock of Grand Junction and Tanner Big Eagle of South Dakota.
Alex Trottier of Bush Cree Promotions, which is putting on the event, said another match to watch pits Colorado Mesa women’s track and field assistant coach Jason “The Show Stopper” Brenton against Demetrius Turner of Las Vegas, Nev., at 145 pounds. Plus, Andrew Yates, a Central High School graduate who now lives and trains in Las Vegas, will fight Anthony Sessions in a 138-pound bout.
Doors at Brownson Arena open at 5:30 p.m., and fights start at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the event are donated to CMU to help with athletic scholarships and the wrestling program.
