Jesse Meaux, P, Asheville
Meaux was cruising early in the season, with a 0.90 ERA in 20 innings, all in relief. He had recorded 26 strikeouts and walked only eight batters, but in late May went on the disabled list with a right (pitching) shoulder injury and hasn’t pitched since. The last run Meaux allowed was April 24 against Lexington, and didn’t give up another run through his last appearance, May 24. Teams were hitting .224 against Meaux, who was drafted out of UC Santa Barbara in the 19th round in 2011. Meaux is still in Asheville but has not thrown a bullpen session or batting practice since the injury, said Doug Maurer, the club’s media relations director.
Ashley Graeter, 3B, Tri-City: Graeter, who signed with the Rockies last July as a free agent and was assigned to Grand Junction, is hitting .213 in 24 games for the Dust Devils. He has three doubles, one triple, two home runs and 11 RBI through Thursday night’s game. In his past 10 games, he’s hitting .226, including going 3 for 3 against Salem Kaiser on July 21 and 2 for 4 on July 23 against Everett.
Carl Thomore, OF, Bristol: Thomore was traded to the White Sox in June and is hitting .209 for the Bristol White Sox, Chicago’s Rookie affiliate in the Appalachian League. He missed most of last season in Grand Junction with a hamstring injury. Thomore has four doubles and 10 RBI, but is hitting .303 in his past 10 games, including a 2-for-4 night July 24 at Burlington, driving in two runs.
