Chadron defeats Colorado Mesa in overtime
CHADRON, Neb. - Chadron State College scored a touchdown on its first possession in overtime and its defense held as the Eagles defeated the Colorado Mesa University football team 24-17 in overtime at Don Beebe Stadium.
Colorado Mesa (4-7, 3-6 RMAC) rallied to force overtime when Robert Felberg completed a pass to Nate Neville for a 35-yard touchdown with 8:35 left in the fourth quarter. Both teams had another possession, but was unable to score.
Chadron State (6-5, 6-3 RMAC) had 417 yards in total offense, including 174 on the ground. The Eagles defense limited Mesa to 203 yards in total offense and held the Mavericks under 100 rushing yards.
