CMU charity softball game postponed

Wednesday’s wet, chilly weather wasn’t conducive to playing the annual charity softball game between the Colorado Mesa University softball and wrestling teams.

The game was postponed until 6 p.m. on Oct. 3 at Bergman Field. The game benefits the Kids Aid Backpack program, with fans asked to bring non-perishable items to be distributed to area school children.

Items needed include peanut butter, pudding cups, fruit cups, granola bars, boxed pasta meals (mac and cheese, Ramen noodles, etc.) canned soup and meals (Spaghetti-O’s, etc.), cereal bars, Pop Tarts, instant oatmeal, and individual cracker and cookie packs. The program asks all canned goods be regular size, not jumbo.
