CMU women tied for ninth in Texas

Colorado Mesa is tied for ninth after the first round of the West Texas A&M Buff Stampede women’s golf tournament in Amarillo, Texas.

The Mavericks shot a first-round 332, with Sara Swaney tied for 23rd overall with an 81. Loren Forney is tied for 29th with an 82, Zoe Woodworth tied for 35th with an 83, Taylor Walters tied for 57th with an 86 and Rachel Cavalier is 74th with a 92.

CSU-Pueblo leads the 17-team field with a first-round 305, led by Hee-Leina Kim, who shot a 72. Teammate Julie Sanchez is two strokes back with a 74. The tournament wraps up today with 18 holes.

CMU offering girls camp Friday

Colorado Mesa’s women’s basketball team is offering a Lil Swishers Day Camp on Friday for girls in grades 2-8.

The camp is from 9 a.m. until noon in the Maverick Pavillion next to the Hamilton Recreation Center. The cost is $30 and includes a CMU basketball T-shirt and a ticket to the women’s game Nov. 29 against Dixie State.
