Mesa’s Bingman finishes second

Brandon Bingaman shot a two-over-par on his final round to finish with a 1-under-par 215 and place second in the Peaks Classic on Tuesday at Grandote Peaks Golf Club.

The Colorado Mesa junior finished two strokes behind Bradley Sinnett of Wayland Baptist. Mesa’s Jake Jacobs tied for 12th with a three-round score of 225. Sean Robbins was 16th with 228.

The Mavericks took fifth place with 907. Wayland Baptist won the invitational with 871.

The Colorado Mesa women trimmed off 19 strokes and finished fourth in the Colorado Christian Fall Invitational with a scored of 637.

Jennifer Hilts and Michelle Stripp led Mesa with a two-round score of 159 each for 14th.  Amber Nicholson placed 17th with 160.

West Texas A&M won the team title with 606. The Buffaloes had six of the top seven individuals. Western New Mexico’s Faylyn Beyale took first with 147.
