CMU finishes 16th at Regional Preview
Colorado Mesa finished well back in the pack in the Fall Regional Preview at Hillcrest Country Club in Durango, placing 16th after winning the RMAC Fall Preview last week.
Megan Liborio shot rounds of 78 and 74 to tie for 21st at 152, with Randi Kim tying for 35th with a 154. Heather Kroll and Sydney Gunn tied for 78 at 163, and Ashlyn Kirschner, who was the RMAC golfer of the week after her second-place finish last week, shot a 165 and tied for 86th.
Mesa men fall to No. 10 in poll
Its 2-1 loss last Friday night to Colorado School of Mines caused the Colorado Mesa men’s soccer team to tumble in this week’s United Soccer Coaches national rankings.
The Mavericks (5-1-0, 1-1 RMAC) rebounded with a decisive 3-0 victory over then-No. 18 Regis, which kept them in the top 10, at No. 10 after being ranked sixth last week.
The Mavs are the only RMAC team in the top 25 — Regis is the first team receiving votes after its first loss of the season. Mesa goes on the road for the first time this season, playing at Adams State on Friday afternoon and at Fort Lewis on Sunday.
