Men’s College Golf

Mavs’ McKune places 3rd in Denver

Trevor McKune played three solid rounds of golf Monday and Tuesday in the RMAC No. 1 Tournament at the Golf Club at Revenna in Denver, placing third and making the all-tournament team.

The Colorado Mesa senior finished at 6-over-par 216, slipping a bit after the first two rounds, when he was in second place after rounds of even-par 71 and 2-over 73 on Monday. He shot a 4-over 75 on Tuesday.

The Mavericks placed fourth as a team with a three-day total of 911. Garrett Harrison tied for 12th (13-over 226), Alex Trevino tied for 26th (233), Brett Krantz was 29th (234) and Grant Olinger 35th (240).

 

Women’s College Golf

Liborio ties for seventh for Mesa

 

Megan Liborio shot 1-under-par 71 on Tuesday in the final round of the Western New Mexico Fall Invitational at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona, finishing in a tie for seventh place.

Liborio shot 76 on Monday, but had the fourth-lowest round of the day Tuesday to lead the Mavericks with a 147 total. CMU tied for eighth with a 606 team score.

Randi Kim and Ashlyn Kirschner tied for 19th at 151, Hannah More tied for 63rd at 159 and defending RMAC individual champion Taylor Walters, in her first tournament of the fall, tied for 71st with a 161.
