Mavs’ Kirschner ties for 7th in Arizona
Colorado Mesa’s Ashlyn Kirschner tied for seventh in the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate tournament at Estrella Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
Kirschner, playing in the fifth spot for the Mavericks, shot rounds of 75-73 for a 148 on the par-72 course, leading the Mavericks to a third-place finish with a 620 team score.
Randi Kim tied for 16th at 154, Megan Liborio tied for 34th with Heather Kroll at 159, and Sydney Gun tied for 57th at 165. Cal State-Marcos won the team title with a 605, with Caroline Ordian of the University of Redlands shooting even-par both days to card a 144 and win individual medalist honors by one stroke.
Mesa’s Signorio wins RMAC award
A pair of shutout victories on the road earned Colorado Mesa’s Emily Signorio the RMAC goalkeeper of the week award on Tuesday.
Signorio, a freshman from Canyon Lake, California, is one of three freshmen to share time in goal this season for the Mavericks (4-3, 1-1 RMAC) and is 2-1 with two shutouts.
She made seven saves in a 1-0 victory over Western State, then had six more saves in a 1-0 victory at CU-Colorado Springs. She’s faced 39 shots this season with 18 saves.
