Colorado Mesa overcomes wind, Mines in series finale
The Colorado Mesa University baseball team withstood the wind gusts and defeated the Colorado School of Mines 8-5 in the RMAC series finale Sunday afternoon at Canyon View Park.
Garrett Carpenter pitched a complete game for the victory. The left-hander limited Mines to three earned runs on nine hits and struck out five for his first win of the season.
Austin Kaiser was 4 for 4 with four RBI. The sophomore nearly had an inside-the-park home run, but was thrown out at the plate.
