Colorado Mesa picked fifth in preseason football poll
The Colorado Mesa University football team is expected to do about the same this year under new head coach Russ Martin.
The Mavericks are picked to finish fifth in the RMAC this year, according to the RMAC coaches preseason poll released today. They placed fifth last season.
Defending RMAC champion Colorado State University-Pueblo was picked by nine of the 10 coaches to win the RMAC title again this year. The coaches weren’t allowed to pick their team.
Chadron State received the other first-place vote, but is expected to finish third. Colorado School of Mines is picked second. Adams State is picked fourth.
Mesa senior offensive lineman Trevor Stapp and defensive lineman Domonique Lewis made the All-RMAC preseason team.
