Cortez wins own invitational

Jakob Rudosky shot a 73 to win the medalist honor and led Montezuma-Cortez to the team title of the seven-team invitational boys golf tournament it hosted Wednesday.

The Panthers finished with 229 strokes at Conquistador Golf Course, three ahead of Durango. Montrose placed third with a team score of 236 strokes.

Rudosky edged Durango’s Corey Gillespie by a stroke. Montrose’s Zane Sauer tied for third place with a 77, and teammate Tyrus Lopez tied for fifth with a 78.
