Mesa returns kickoff for TD, but falls to CSU-Pueblo
PUEBLO - Colorado Mesa returned a kickoff for a touchdown, but couldn’t anything more against the No. 8 Colorado State University-Pueblo football team.
Freshman Jordan Price returned his first collegiate kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, but that was the Mavericks’ only score as CSU-Pueblo rolled to a 27-7 victory at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
Mesa (2-6, 1-5 RMAC) were limited 225 yards in total offense, but had 136 on the ground.
Pueblo, which averages 195 rushing yards, threw the ball more against Mesa. Quarterback Ross Dausin completed 18 of 28 passes for 253 yards and one touchdown. The ThunderWolves had 430 yards in total offense.
