CSU-Pueblo routes Mavericks in RMAC tournament

Colorado State-Pueblo jumped out to a big, early lead and didn’t look back, defeating Colorado Mesa 16-5 in the RMAC tournament at Rawlings Field in Pueblo.

The ThunderWolves, facing elimination, scored eight runs in the second inning to chase Mesa starter Nolan Snell. The junior right-hander (9-2) allowed five runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Jeff Popick was 1 for 2 with two RBI and a home run for the Mavericks.
