Fort Lewis beats CMU in lacrosse

Fort Lewis connected on half of its shot attempts Friday to defeat the Colorado Mesa University women’s lacrosse team 16-9 in Durango.

The Skyhawks (7-7, 6-4 WILA) scored 16 goals on 32 shots. Seven players scored for Fort Lewis, led by Brook Wineland and Jessica Norby with four goals apiece.

Lexie Chavez, Tayler Lansdown and Kelsey Krebs scored two goals each for the Mavericks (3-10, 3-6 WILA). Allie Henderson, Ashley Eickhoff and Alison Stone each had one goal and one assist.
