Fruita routs Durango

Vince Grasso rushed for 199 yards and two touchdowns as Fruita Monument routed Durango 42-0 in Southwestern Conference football Friday night.

The Wildcats (4-5, 3-1 SWC) also got 130 yards passing from Jake Lynch, who completed 10 of 20 passes, and he rushed for 47 yards and a score on 13 carries.

As a team, Fruita rushed for 290 yards on 45 carries and had 420 total yards of offense.

Kicker Spencer Fair made all three of his field goal attempts, including a 48-yarder.

Hotchkiss 39, Paonia 6: The Bulldogs (6-2, 3-1) took advantage of seven Paonia turnovers, scoring touchdowns on two of them, to hand the Eagles (4-4, 3-1) their first loss in the 1A Western Slope Conference.

Volleyball

Nichole McIvor had 11 kills as Central defeated Montezuma-Cortez 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21. Robbi Termentozzi and Taylor Head each had seven kills, and Mariah Garcia collected 27 digs for the Warriors (9-12, 3-6 SWL).
