Fruita teen who fell out of vehicle dies
A 17-year-old Fruita Monument High School student who fell out of a moving vehicle over the weekend has died, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department confirmed today.
The girl, who hasn’t been formally identified, died at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Sheriff’s officials say the teenager fell out of a moving vehicle on 18 Road near N 3/10 Road around 3 a.m. Saturday. The coroner is expected to release her identity, as well as the cause and manner of her death.
The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.
