Game 1: San Jac pitcher shuts down Iowa Western

San Jacinto (Texas) College-North pitcher Daniel Stumpf limited Iowa Western Community College to two runs on five hits in the Gators’ 5-2 victory in the first game of the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series at Suplizio Field.

Stumpf pitched a shutout into the seventh inning before the Reivers scored.

San Jacinto’s Esteban Gomez was 3 for 4 with a two-run single in the first inning. Reggie Wilson was 2 for 4 with a solo home run in the fifth.
