Mavs tied for third in Alamosa

Colorado Mesa University shot 14-over-par 582 through the first two rounds Tuesday of the Grizzly Invitational/RMAC Tournament No. 1 at Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa.

The Mavericks are tied for third with CU-Colorado Springs. Colorado School of Mines is at 1-over 569 and Western New Mexico second at 12-over 580.

Jim Knous of Basalt, who plays at Mines, leads the tournament at 4-under 138, one stroke ahead of Kevin Witte of CU-Colorado Springs. The Mavericks’ Sean Robbins is at 2-under 140, shooting 72 in the first round and 68 in the second.

Mesa’s Brandon Bingaman is tied for fourth at 1-under 141 (71 and 70), Jake Jacobs is tied for 26th at 150, Eric Farmer tied for 28th at 151 and Ryan Church tied for 43rd at 156.
