Grand Junction remains No. 1, Palisade ranked seventh
Grand Junction remained No. 1 in the Denver Post Class 5A football media poll after last weekend’s victory over Montrose.
The Tigers (7-0) received nine of 16 first-place votes and have 148 points in the poll. Grandview (6-1) remained second with three first-place votes and 134 points.
Montrose (6-1) dropped one spot to No. 7 in the Class 4A poll. Valor Christian (7-0) remains No. 1 with all 14 first-place votes.
Rifle, Palisade and Battle Mountain each moved up one spot in the Class 3A poll. Rifle (7-0) is ranked fifth, Palisde (6-1) is seventh and Battle Mountain (6-1) is eighth.
Canon City (7-0) took over the top spot in the 3A poll. The previous No. 1, Vista Ridge, dropped one spot to No. 2 after a loss to a Texas 3A school.
Aspen (6-1) moved up one spot to No. 5 in the 2A poll and Hotchkiss (7-0) remains No. 2 in the 1A poll.
