If you haven’t been bummed out with record cold temperatures and polluted valley skies this winter, you’re most likely a snowbird who bolted for warmer climes.

Those of us who haven’t been basking in Southern environs resemble ravenous bears. We’re coming out of hibernation with appetites for entertainment and visual stimulation.

The organizers of the 2013 Cabin Fever Quilt Show in Hotchkiss have a cure for what ails us. Every two years, this event is sponsored by S&B Quilters’ Guild at the Heritage Hall on the Delta County Fairgrounds, 403 Bridge St. (Colorado Highway 92).

The group of more than 100 quilters plans a three-day festivity March 15-17.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free, but organizers say donations are appreciated.

As usual, homemade goodies and beverages will be for sale at the show’s Calico Cafe.

Not only will visitors see about 200 quilts and be able to shop at vendors from Colorado and New Mexico at a merchants mall, but you can watch demonstrations by S&B Quilters each day. Look for a special exhibit of quilting tools, from vintage to present day.

Cynda Clay and Margie Hollembeak are co-chairwomen for the 2013 show. If you have questions, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
