Padgett, McKee nab SWL honors

Fruita Monument’s Wesley Padgett was honored as the player of the year on the 2013 All-Southwestern League boys soccer team. Fruita coach Dan McKee was selected as coach of the year.

Padgett was one of four players from the SWL champion Wildcats selected for the first team. He was joined by teammates Kyle Breeden, Cory Odom and Noah Nelson.

Also earning first-team recognition are Grand Junction’s Michael Hansen and Josh Murdock; Central’s Matt Miller; Montrose’s Vijah Singh; and Durango’s Zeb Soignier, Patrick Leach and Sean Acherman.

Making the second team are Montrose’s Ryan Nadiak, Brian Bond, Greg Shawcroft and Brayden Reese; Fruita Monument’s Lukas Smith and Andrew Bryceland; Grand Junction’s Marcel Mavangulu; Central’s Cesar Matias; Montezuma-Cortez’s Bridger Brenner and Briston Walker; and Durango’s Dylan McClain.
