In brief: Two Mavs receive RMAC swimming awards

Mesa State freshmen David Baker and Kelly Hogan were selected as the RMAC men’s and women’s swimmers of the week.

Baker placed in the top eight in three events in the men’s first-ever collegiate meet last weekend at Colorado School of Mines and was a part of two first-place relay teams in the University of Denver Relays.

Hogan helped the Mavericks to wins over Adams State and Colorado Mines with a first-place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle races. She was also on five relay teams that placed in the top 10 at DU.

The Mavericks compete in the Rocky Mountain Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Golden.
