Iowa Western advances to title game

Iowa Western Community College shut down Gordon (Ga.) College’s offense in a 10-0 victory in six innings at Suplizio Field to advance to Saturday night’s national championship game.

Tanner Kreietmeier led the way with a first-inning grand slam and a complete game on the mound. He limited Gordon to five hits and struck out six in six innings. He was 2 for 3 with four RBI at the plate. Damek Tomscha was 3 for 3 with a two-run home run.

Gordon plays San Jacinto (Texas) College-North at 7 p.m. Friday with the winner meeting Iowa Western for the national championship at 7 p.m. Saturday.
