Junction couple to appear today on perennial ‘Let’s Make a Deal’
Kyle Horst’s costume was so clever that Erin Horst hoped host Wayne Brady would pick her husband for “Let’s Make A Deal.”
Not only did Brady pick Kyle, Brady had Erin join her husband on the CBS game show, giving the Grand Junction couple the chance to win prizes on the TV program known for its zany crowd.
The “Let’s Make A Deal” episode featuring Kyle and Erin was taped in mid-July but will air today, according to the show’s publicist.

The Horsts can’t divulge how they fared and haven’t told many people they’ll be on TV, but they admittedly are excited for the episode to finally air.
“I grew up watching Wayne Brady,” Kyle said.
As an homage to Brady, and an obvious attempt to get on the show, Kyle wore a “Brain Wade-y” costume, using fake brains and flotation devices for wading in water as a pun on the host’s name.
Erin dressed up like a train.
Kyle’s costume stood out to Brady, just as Erin had hoped, they said.
Their decision to attend a “Let’s Make A Deal” taping came down to two things: tickets were free and Wayne Brady.
“Wayne Brady was phenomenal,” Erin said. “He was so down to earth.”
That the show requires costumes was no big deal to the fun-loving couple. In fact, they drove themselves to the studio, parked, and walked several blocks in full costume to get in line. “It’s LA,” Erin said with a shrug and a laugh.
Kyle is a family therapist at St. Mary’s Family Medicine Center and Erin teaches English and drama at Fruita Monument High School. They aren’t sure they’ll have a chance to watch the show today because of work but figure family or friends will tape it.
