Junction remains No. 1; Palisade ranked seventh
Grand Junction is ranked No. 1 in the Denver Post Class 5A football media poll for the seventh consecutive week.
The Tigers (8-0) received nine of the 15 first-place votes. Grand Junction closes out the regular season Friday at Durango.
Columbine (8-0) overtook Grandview for second in the 5A poll and received three first-place votes. Grandview (7-1) is third with two first-place votes and Mullen (7-1) is fourth with 1 first-place vote.
Montrose (7-1) moved up two spots to No. 5 in the Class 4A poll following its win over Central. Valor Christian (8-0) remained No. 1.
Palisade (7-1) remained seventh in the Class 3A poll. The Bulldogs host No. 5 Rifle (8-0) at 7 p.m. Friday at Stocker Stadium in a game that could determine the Western Slope Conference champion. Battle Mountain (7-1) is ranked eighth.
Canon City (8-0) is No. 1 in the 3A poll.
Aspen (7-1) dropped out of the Class 2A top 10 following a loss to Coal Ridge. Brush (8-0) remained No. 1 with nine first-place votes.
Hotchkiss (8-0) remained No. 2 in the Class 1A poll following a 48-0 victory over rival Paonia. Burlington (8-0) is first.
