Junction shutout in district baseball

Doherty pitcher Jake Dittman pitched a complete game shutout as the Spartans defeated Grand Junction 6-0 in the Class 5A District 3 playoffs at Canyon View Park.

The loss ends Grand Junction’s season. The Tigers finished 17-3.

The Spartans (11-9) advance to the district championship game and await the winner of Abraham Lincoln and Heritage.
