KidzPlex wins five all-around titles

KidzPlex won five of the eight all-around titles during the 24th annual Grand Junction Gymnastics Invitational at KidzPlex.

Cammi Muhr, a Grand Junction High School senior, won the Level 10 all-around title with 36.325 points. She won the beam, floor, vault and bars.

KidzPlex swept the Level 9 medals, led by Elise Ras, who was first all-around (35.45). Tessa Kester was second (35.275) and Lyndee Zelenka was third (34.1).

Kayla Bensley won the Level 8 junior division all-around title (35.8) and Jamie Madson was third (34.175). Mary King won the Level 8 children’s division title (35.375), Sloan Black was second (35.075) and Jaelyn Bensley took fourth (34.05).

KidzPlex took four of the top six spots in the Level 7 junior division, led by Kelsie Kracht’s first-place finish (35.575). Myah Lewis was fourth (32.225) and Hunter Ash was fifth (32.2).

Amanda Summers placed fourth in the Level 7 senior division (34.725), Carson King was third in the Level 7 children’s division (35.7) and Analise Werner was fifth (35.2).

Two Colorado West gymnasts place

Tia Ryan and Grayson Young were medalists for the Colorado West Gymnastics team Saturday in the Grand Junction Invitational at KidzPlex.

Ryan took first place all-around in the Level 7 14-older division with a score of 35.75.

Young placed second all-around in the Level 8 division with a score of 35.325. She was first on vault.

Two MatCats place in Utah tourney

Dar McLean and Tyren Castonguay of the Fruita MatCats placed in the Beehive Brawl Utah Nationals on Sunday in Richfield, Utah.

McLean placed fourth in the 10-and-under 80-pound division. Castonguay was fifth in the 10-under 73-pound division.
