Martin wins stroke play tourney
Grand Junction’s Melissa Martin shot a 1-over-par 72 for the second straight day to run away with the title at the 2013 CWGA Stroke Play Championship at The Ranch Country Club in Westminster.
Martin, of Bookcliff Country Club, finished the three-round tournament at 220, eight strokes better than runners-up Kelly Moran of Boulder and defending champion Somin Lee of Centennial.
Martin pulled away on the back nine, carding three birdies in a row after bogeying the 10th hole. She bogeyed No. 14, then closed with four pars.
