Mavericks place 17th in Nebraska

Colorado Mesa placed 17th out of 21 teams in the RMAC/Northern Sun Conference Crossover invitational tournament Monday at Wild Horse Golf Course in Gothenburg, Neb.

Brandon Bingaman led the Mavericks with a 12th place finish. He scored four-over-par 220 in the three round tournament. Mesa scored 927.

The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs took first with 862. The Mountain Lions had four of the top eight individuals.

Jim Knous of the Colorado School of Mines took medalist honors with 212. He won by three strokes over Patrick Beyhan of Western New Mexico and Eddie DeLashmutt of UCCS.
