Mavs baseball sweeps CSU-Pueblo
The Colorado Mesa University baseball team honored its seniors with a 6-2 victory over CSU-Pueblo in the Mavericks’ regular season home finale at Suplizio Field.
Mesa (36-10, 30-6 RMAC) swept the four-game RMAC series and remains four games up on New Mexico Highlands for first place in the RMAC. The Mavericks finish the regular season with a four-game series at Colorado School of Mines next weekend.
The Mavs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and didn’t look back.
Colton Little, Dustin Fackrell and Jeff Popick each hit home runs for Mesa.
Garrett Carpenter limited the ThunderWolves to two runs on seven hits and struck out nine in seven innings.
