Mavs fall in D-II nationals

Mesa State College juniors Nick Provenza and Jordan Chomko competed with some of the best Division II tennis players in the country, but came up short.

The Mavericks’ doubles team lost two matches Thursday in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association small college national championships in Mobile, Ala. They can still finish seventh with a win today.

“The effort was there, but we were short on the results,” Mesa State coach Dan MacDonald said.
“We’re right there. Hopefully, we can pull it out ”
