Mavs in third place in RMAC title meet

Through 18 events, the Colorado Mesa University swim teams are both in third place in the RMAC championships in San Antonio, Texas.

The women have 251 points, trailing Grand Canyon (420) and Incarnate Word (325). The men’s team has 264.5 points, with Incarnate Word (428) first and Grand Canyon (327) second.

CMU sophomore Brock Martin won the 1-meter diving with 511.70 points, well ahead of Moshe Rios of Incarnate Word, who scored 384.40 points. The Maverick swimmers didn’t win an individual event on Thursday, but the men’s 200 freestyle relay team was third, as was the women’s 400 medley relay team. The women’s 200 freestyle relay team placed fourth. as did Kent Stavrakas in the men’s 50 free.

The conference championship meet continues through Saturday.
