Mavs rally to victory over Western State
Colorado Mesa put together a 93-yard scoring drive to regain the lead then held on for a 22-19 RMAC football victory over Western State Colorado University at Stocker Stadium.
Mesa running back DJ Hubbard scored on a six-yard run then ran in a two-point conversion to cap a 7 minute, 39 second drive for the lead.
Western State moved into scoring territory with less than two minutes left, but missed a 36-yard field goal to force overtime.
The Mountaineers had 305 yards in total offense and limited Mesa to 199.
