McIvor and Head lift Central past rival Junction

Central’s Taylor Head, 23, records one of her 14 kills Tuesday night in the Warriors’ 25-22, 25-21, 19-25, 22-25, 15-11 victory over Grand Junction.

Nichole McIvor and Taylor Head had 15 and 14 kills, respectively, to lead Central to a 25-22, 25-21, 19-25, 22-25, 15-11 victory over Grand Junction in Southwestern League volleyball Tuesday.

Rayleigh North added 36 assists, and Mariah Garcia topped the Warriors (7-9, 2-5 SWL) with 25 digs.

Grand Junction’s Ashley Preuss and Mikayla O’Brien had 11 and 10 kills, respectively, and O’Brien added six blocks.

Fruita Monument 3, Montrose 0: Loryn Chiapuzio had 14 kills, 11 digs and two aces as the Wildcats won 25-19, 25-19, 25-20 in an SWL match.

MacKenzie Schuller added 12 kills and three blocks for Fruita Monument.
