Orchard Avenue Elementary lifts lockdown

Orchard Avenue Elementary School, 1800 Orchard Ave., has lifted its lockdown situation.

The school was placed in lockdown at about 1 p.m. after a man entered the school who had been told previously not to come onto school grounds, District 51 spokesman Jeff Kirtland said. The man was a parent of a child at the school, he said.

After the man left, the school was locked.

Students are released from school at 3:50 p.m.
