Patti Arnold’s ‘JUCO’s Journey’

Jamie Hamilton wanted to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Junior College World Series with something that portrayed what the tournament means to Grand Junction.

An avid reader, Hamilton wanted a book to tell the story of JUCO.

He enlisted Daily Sentinel sports writer Patti Arnold to write what became “JUCO’s Journey,” an anecdotal history of the tournament.

The chapters are filled with memories from legendary coaches and players as well as fans who have made JUCO a family event for generations.

The book features dozens of photos through the years, most courtesy of the archives of The Daily Sentinel.

“JUCO’s Journey” will be on sale for $20 at the banquet and throughout the tournament at Suplizio Field.
