Bears top ‘Dogs in high-scoring game

Palisade fell behind early against Rifle on Wednesday night, battled back, then fell behind again in a 26-14 loss to Rifle at Bergman Field.

The Bulldogs (3-9, 0-2 4A Western Slope League) drove in 10 runs during the bottom of the fourth inning, but still trailed the Bears (6-3, 2-0), down 16-12.

Rifle scored once more before the seventh inning, then both teams added runs, including a nine-run outburst by the Bears to put the game out of reach.

Palisade loses big to Roaring Fork

 

Palisade remained winless with a 10-1 loss to Roaring Fork at Walker Field.

The Bulldogs (0-6) scored their second goal of the season against the Rams (4-1), which won their fourth straight road game.

Palisade hosts Summit at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Long Family Park.
