Relay teams lead CMU men

Shawn Seuschek, Brett Lowe and the men’s 200-yard medley and 800 freestyle relay teams had top-10 finishes Sunday for the Colorado Mesa swimming & diving team in the UNLV Winter Invitational.

Seuschek was ninth in the men’s 100 butterfly (42.03 seconds) and Lowe was 10th in the 100 breaststroke (59.53), with the freestyle relay team finishing eighth (7:13.46) and the 200 medley relay 10th (1:37.45) in the 10-team, three-day meet.

Robert Eisendrath was 12th in the men’s 100 back (53.81) and Drake Mendelson 15th (57.34). Andy Gibbons (1:00.65) was 13th in the 100 breaststroke and Tyler Kaslik 15th in the 100 fly (53.29). Eric Black placed 16th in the men’s 400 individual medley (4:46.49).

In the women’s meet, Briana Purkapile placed 12th in the 400 IM (4:43.04) and the 800 free relay team was 12th (8:16.39). Another dozen finals are today.
