Remember lost companions at church

Episcopal Church of the Nativity will sponsor a service to remember animal companions lost to death from 5–6 p.m. Sunday in the backyard of the church, 2175 Broadway.

The brief service of memory will take place around a fire pit. Bring photos of your pets that have died.

See ‘Imagine’ by Beatles historian


The Beatles historian Karen Kosinski will present “Imagine,” inspired by The Beatles song of the same name, at the 4:30 p.m. service of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Grand Valley, meeting at 1425 N. Fifth St.

Colorado Mesa University music professors Kathleen Ruhleder and Arthur Houle will provide the music.

Emmaus potluck at Montrose United


The public is invited to attend an Emmaus potluck dinner followed by a Taize worship service on Thursday at Montrose United Methodist Church, 19 S. Park Ave., in Montrose.

The dinner begins at 5:45 p.m. in Baldridge Hall. The nondenominational meditative candlelit service is at 7 p.m.

Conflict resolution class at United Way


Christian Peacemaking Resource will host a conflict resolution class from noon–1 p.m. Thursday at the United Way of Mesa County office, 422 White Ave., Suite 337, in the US Bank Building.

The topic is “Finding Peace Within,” presented by Leslie McAninch. A brown bag lunch starts at 11:45 a.m. Classes are free; however, donations are accepted.
