Black Hills State

Outlook: The Yellow Jackets were last in the RMAC in scoring defense and total defense.
Coach: Jay Long, 3rd season
2013: 8-3, 7-2 RMAC
Returning starters: 4 offense, 8 defense
Key players: QB Jonn McLain, sr.; OL Mike Lorenzo, sr.; LB Dylan Furrier, jr.; DB Lane Haller, sr.
Outlook: The Eagles lost the RMAC’s leading rusher and the team’s leading tackler, but have a veteran leader in McLain.
Colorado School of Mines
Coach: Bob Stitt, 15th season
2013: 8-3, 7-2 RMAC
Returning starters: 8 offense, 6 defense
Key players: QB Justin Dvorak, soph.; TE Matt Brown, sr.; WR Jimmy Ellis, jr.; LB Kole Kadavy, sr.
Outlook: The Orediggers’ offense can be explosive again if Dvorak can lead it like Brown did last year.
Coach: John Wristen, 7th season
2013: 11-1, 9-0 RMAC, lost to Grand Valley St. in NCAA second round
Returning starters: 8 offense, 8 defense
Key players: QB Chris Bonner, sr,; RB Cameron McDondle, jr.; DL Darius Allen, sr.; DB Stephan Dickens, sr.
Outlook: Led by a Harlon Hill candidate and a Gene Upshaw award winner, the ThunderWolves are poised to win a fourth consecutive RMAC crown.
Coach: John L. Smith, 2nd season
2013: 4-7, 3-6 RMAC
Key players: QB Jordan Doyle, jr.; WR Maurice Anderson, sr.; DL Ryan Ross, sr.; DL DeAntuan Whitehead, sr.
Outlook: The Skyhawks were last in the RMAC in scoring offense and total offense, but have a healthy QB in Doyle.
New Mexico Highlands
Coach: Eric Young, 4th season
2013: 2-9, 1-8 RMAC
Returning starters: 5 offense, 4 defense
Key players: QB Lance Orender, sr.; WR Tyler Slavin, sr.; LB Jared Koster, sr.; P Patrick Carney, sr.
Outlook: There are several new players for the Cowboys, but one of their best defensive players returns in Koster.
Western New Mexico
Coach: Adam Clark, 5th season
2013: 4-6, 4-5 RMAC
Returning starters: 6 offense, 6 defense
Key players: QB Mitch Glasmann, jr.; WR/RS Donald Byrd, sr.; DE Zachary Dembrowski, sr.; DB Deshawn Hathorn, sr.
Outlook: Byrd is a threat in the passing game and in the return game for the Mustangs, who were 3-1 at home last year.
Western State Colorado
Coach: Jas Bains, 4th season
2013: 2-9, 2-7 RMAC
Returning starters: 8 offense, 9 defense
Key players: QB Brett Arrivey, soph., RB Austin Ekeler, soph.; LB Jaden Terry, sr.; S Cole Waliczek, sr.
Outlook: The Mountaineers are poised to move up in the RMAC after losing four games by a combined six points last season.
