Three CMU players earn academic honor

Three members of the Colorado Mesa women’s lacrosse team have been selected to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association’s Academic Honor Roll.

All six RMAC teams had players make the team, and Rockhurst University had the highest team GPA (3.56) in Division II and received the Academic Merit Squad award. The Mavericks were one of 45 teams to receive a team honor squad honor for having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Lexie Chavez, a junior studying criminal justice and Keri Kopchik and Maddie Spor, both juniors studying fitness and health promotion at Colorado Mesa, were recognized. To be an IWLA Scholar Athlete, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior and have at least a 3.5 GPA.
