Thunder Bay nipped by Charlotte in PDL championship game

In his final professional soccer game, Grand Junction High School graduate Brandon Swartzendruber, came up short in his quest to go out with a title-game win.

Swartzendruber’s team, the Thunder Bay Chill out of Ontario, Canada, lost to the Charlotte Eagles, 2-1, in the Premier Development League Championship game on Saturday.

Swartzendruber, 32, played with the Chill for six seasons and holds the club record for career goals. He was also with the Chill when they won the franchise’s only PDL championship in 2008.
