Mavs sweep weekly WILA men’s awards

Colorado Mesa swept the weekly Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association men’s awards.

Steve Brandenburg, a 6-foot freshman from Los Alamitos, Calif., was selected the offensive player of the week after scoring three goals and recording one assist in the Mavericks’ 11-7 win over Colorado College.

He scored on all three of his shots and is second in the WILA in goals per game and tied for second in points per game.

Zach Weaver, a 5-11 sophomore from San Diego, had 16 saves, caused a turnover and earned the victory in goal against the Tigers. Weaver leads Division II goalies in save percentage and saves per game.
